A Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer responsible for understanding customer needs, demonstrating technical solutions, and supporting sales efforts in the data storage industry, with a focus on storage architectures, cloud integration, and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Understand customer business needs and tailor storage solutions accordingly
Collaborate with sales teams and partners to drive revenue and customer engagement
Provide technical leadership on storage products, architectures, and competitive offerings
Conduct evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations for storage solutions
Create and deliver technical presentations to demonstrate product value and secure technical wins
Translate customer requirements into innovative storage solutions to support growth
Identify and pursue new opportunities for interoperability, testing, and validation
Develop technical marketing materials and stay current with industry trends and competitors
Requirements
Pre-sales experience of 5 or more years supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts.
Deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client-server and web-based computing solutions.
Familiarity with modern web architecture such as the LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS well-architected framework, and microservices architecture is a plus.
Experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage solutions, including storage architectures such as FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN.
Previous experience with Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environment.
Experience with installation and configuration of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystems, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, and windowing systems.
Strong knowledge of digital transformation to Cloud Native architecture, On-Premises, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers.
Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking concepts.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, containers, Kubernetes, and microservices architectures is a plus.
Ability to contribute significantly or lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills.
Must have a strong understanding of supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software solutions.
Must be able to support evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations.
Ability to develop and deliver technical product and architecture presentations to customers.
Ability to capture customer requirements and translate them into innovative solutions.
Ability to identify and pursue new opportunities for interoperability, functional, and performance testing validation.
Ability to promote mutual roadmap and planning exchanges with clients and partners.
Stay current with the competition and ensure that materials reflect the latest, differentiated solution positioning.
Strong technical leadership and domain expertise in storage products, distributed storage architectures, file systems, and competitive storage offerings in the DAS, NAS, and SAN product spaces.
Curiosity and passion for technology, with the ability to explain and demonstrate new technology platforms and concepts to customers.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Physical ability to support technical evaluations, configurations, and presentations as required.
