Job Description
A strategic account manager role focused on driving sales, developing and maintaining relationships with key clients, creating strategic plans, and providing technical product expertise within the industrial automation and electronics marketplace in the Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales of Phoenix Contact products by developing and executing strategic account plans
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across management, procurement, engineering, and sales departments
- Lead business reviews, analyze customer needs, and develop tailored solutions and initiatives
- Develop and implement strategic roadmaps to increase account share, revenue, and brand presence
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to support customer needs and improve service levels
- Prepare proposals, presentations, and sales materials to support sales efforts
- Utilize CRM systems for tracking customer interactions, reporting, and measuring sales activities
- Deliver product demonstrations and technical presentations to customers
- Qualify sales opportunities, follow up on quotations, and forecast sales performance
Requirements
- A four-year degree in a technical discipline preferred and/or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the electronics or industrial automation controls marketplace.
- Experience working with distribution preferred.
- Excellent networking and influencing skills needed to communicate at all levels.
- Exhibits high-level interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Successful history in achieving strategic and sales targets.
- Self-motivated with the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
- Must be able to travel via airplane.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel via automobile for up to six hours at a time.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to travel overnight 20-25 nights as dictated by assigned territory.
- Comply with company dress code guidelines.
- Punctuality is required, with regular and on-time attendance.
