Job Description
The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for driving sales and developing strategic relationships with key accounts in the Dallas and Fort Worth regions, combining technical knowledge with business skills to expand market share, increase revenue, and ensure customer satisfaction within the industrial automation sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales of Phoenix Contact products by developing and executing strategic account plans.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across management, procurement, engineering, and sales departments.
- Lead cross-functional teams to support account growth, including preparing proposals, presentations, and sales materials.
- Develop and implement strategic roadmaps for assigned accounts to increase revenue, market share, and product mix.
- Monitor customer needs, supply chain, and competitive activity to identify opportunities and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct business reviews and lead negotiations to enhance account profitability and service levels.
- Utilize CRM tools for tracking client interactions, reporting, and measuring sales activities and performance.
- Deliver product demonstrations and technical presentations to support sales efforts.
- Qualify sales opportunities within strategic accounts and follow up on quotations to close deals.
- Collaborate with product teams to develop field presentations and application notes.
Requirements
- A four-year degree in a technical discipline preferred and/or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the electronics or industrial automation controls marketplace.
- Experience working with distribution preferred.
- Excellent networking and influencing skills needed to communicate at all levels.
- Exhibits high-level interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Successful history in achieving strategic and sales targets.
- Self-motivated with the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
- Must be able to travel via airplane.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel via automobile for up to six hours at a time.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to travel overnight 20-25 nights as dictated by assigned territory.
- Comply with company dress code guidelines.
- Punctuality is required with regular and on-time attendance.
