Job Description
The Quality Control Manager at RES is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality and safety of construction projects, including reviewing documentation, conducting inspections, coordinating testing, and maintaining compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and perform daily quality control inspections and documentation for specific projects
- Review shop drawings and submittals for compliance with project specifications
- Conduct and document weekly QC meetings with the superintendent
- Provide daily QC reports to ensure construction conforms to standards and address non-conformance issues
- Verify and document materials received for conformance, handling, storage, and installation
- Conduct pre-construction meetings with subcontractors and the project team
- Coordinate and document testing and commissioning of building systems
- Maintain and update as-built drawings daily
- Assemble and submit project closeout documents including O M manuals, as-builts, and warranties
- Stop work if necessary to resolve safety, quality, or progress issues
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience working on USACE construction projects as a Quality Control (QC) manager on relevant construction projects.
- A total of 10 years of combined experience as a superintendent, QC manager, project manager, or project engineer on construction projects, or at least 5 years of construction quality control experience on construction similar to the current project scope.
- Current USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors Certification.
- Knowledge of a wide range of construction materials, methods, and techniques.
- Experience with the requirements of EM-385-1-1, including hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability.
- Proficiency with RMS 3.0.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a good motor vehicle record.
