Job Description
A hands-on sales engineering role focused on driving sales of Phoenix Contact products by combining technical knowledge with relationship-building, account management, and business development within the Texas (excluding Houston) territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales of Phoenix Contact products within the assigned territory by meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
- Identify customer needs, recommend suitable products or solutions, and support the sales process with technical expertise.
- Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers through regular communication and relationship development.
- Generate new sales opportunities and support business development activities within assigned accounts.
- Prepare proposals, presentations, and sales materials to support sales efforts.
- Utilize CRM systems to track, report, and manage customer interactions and sales activities.
- Deliver product presentations and hands-on demonstrations to promote product solutions.
- Qualify and follow up on sales opportunities and quotations within the account portfolio.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Channel and Field Application Engineering, to ensure customer satisfaction and sales success.
- Develop and implement mutual action plans with customer accounts to foster growth and engagement.
Requirements
- Must be able to travel via airplane and automobile for up to six hours at a time, including overnight travel as dictated by the assigned territory.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to demonstrate technical competence on all products and solutions within the area of focus.
- Must have 1 to 3 years minimum sales experience in the electronics or industrial automation controls marketplace.
- Experience working with distribution is preferred.
- Must be comfortable conducting regular outreach and check-ins with assigned accounts to maintain engagement and uncover new opportunities.
- Must be self-motivated with the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
- Must have a four-year degree preferred, or technical discipline preferred and/or equivalent experience.
- Must be able to develop and implement effective Mutual Action Plans with assigned customer locations independently and/or in conjunction with regional management.
- Must be able to deliver presentations and hands-on demonstrations of Phoenix Contact products, applications, and technology for the purpose of product sales.
- Must qualify and follow up on all opportunities within the assigned account portfolio, including follow-up on all quotations.
- Must be punctual, maintain regular and on-time attendance, and comply with company dress code guidelines.
