Job Description
The Field Application Engineer (FAE) provides technical support and expertise to drive sales and expand market presence for Phoenix Contact's automation, control, and networking products within the industrial automation industry, working closely with sales teams and customers to develop solutions and foster relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise to support automation, control, and networking product opportunities.
- Collaborate with sales teams to drive product sales and market penetration.
- Act as the technical representative for product support and customer engagement.
- Develop sales tools, collateral, and marketing campaigns to promote products.
- Identify customer needs and develop value-added applications and engineered solutions.
- Meet or exceed territory sales quotas through consultative selling and relationship building.
- Maintain and utilize CRM systems for customer management and reporting.
- Deliver product presentations and hands-on demonstrations to customers.
- Develop and maintain technical knowledge of Phoenix Contact products and solutions.
- Build and sustain relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders to facilitate growth.
Requirements
- Four-year college degree
- Technical discipline preferred and or equivalent industry experience
- Minimum of 3 years sales or marketing experience with automation and industrial control products
- Ability to work independently from home office and communicate effectively with colleagues with limited supervision
- Excellent oral, written communication, and presentation skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to learn and adapt quickly
- Must be able to travel via airplane
- Must have a valid driver s license and be able to travel via automobile for up to six hours at a time
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Must be able to travel overnight 40 or as dictated by assigned territory
- Comply with company dress code guidelines
- Punctuality is required
- Regular and on-time attendance
