Job Description
The Field Application Engineer provides technical support and expertise in automation, control, and networking products to drive sales growth, develop customer relationships, and support product applications within the industrial automation industry across specific regional territories.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and promote Phoenix Contact automation, control, and networking products to increase sales revenue.
- Act as the technical representative for product solutions and support sales teams with technical expertise.
- Develop sales tools, collateral, and marketing campaigns to drive product adoption and market expansion.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders to facilitate new business and growth.
- Deliver product presentations and hands-on demonstrations to support sales efforts.
- Maintain and utilize CRM systems for client management, reporting, and tracking sales activities.
- Stay knowledgeable on all relevant product solutions and industry trends.
- Collaborate with sales teams through joint activities, trainings, and strategic planning to achieve sales targets.
Requirements
- Four-year degree required, with an engineering degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of sales or marketing experience with automation and industrial control products.
- Ability to work independently from a home office and communicate effectively with colleagues with limited supervision.
- Excellent oral, written communication, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
- Must be able to travel via airplane and automobile for up to six hours at a time.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to travel overnight 40 or more nights per year as dictated by the assigned territory.
- Must comply with company dress code guidelines.
- Punctuality and regular, on-time attendance are required.
