Job Description
The Account Development Specialist End-User is responsible for engaging with customers and engineering firms to identify sales opportunities, build relationships, and drive the sale of Phoenix Contact's products through direct outreach, technical demonstrations, and account development efforts in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, contact, and sell to new and existing end-user customers and engineering firms.
- Drive sales of end-user-focused products through technical knowledge, strategic thinking, and communication.
- Build and maintain customer relationships using BASE selling skills and cold outreach methods.
- Generate leads via cold calls, emails, and networking events.
- Prepare proposals, presentations, and sales materials for customer engagement.
- Maintain and update CRM systems with accurate client information and track sales activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop field presentations and application notes.
- Deliver product presentations and demonstrations to promote sales.
- Qualify and follow up on leads and quotations within the assigned territory.
- Develop and implement Mutual Action Plans with distributor partners.
- Provide sales forecasts and performance reports to management.
Requirements
- Must be able to travel via airplane and automobile for up to six hours at a time, including overnight travel as dictated by the assigned territory.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be punctual and comply with company dress code guidelines.
- Must have 1 to 3 years minimum sales experience in the electronics or industrial automation controls marketplace.
- Experience working with distribution is preferred.
- Comfortable making cold calls and sending outreach emails.
- Self-motivated with the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
- Must be able to develop and maintain a working knowledge of all Phoenix Contact products and solutions.
- Must be able to qualify and follow up on all leads within the assigned territory.
- Must be able to follow up on all quotations within the assigned territory for the given account portfolio.
- Four-year degree preferred, or technical discipline preferred and/or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrate technical competence on all products solutions within the area of focus.
- Meet or exceed territory sales quotas as established by the RSM and/or Vice President Field Sales.
- Be proficient in BASE selling skills and implement to build strong customer relationships.
- Generate leads through cold calls, emails, and networking events.
- Support the preparation of proposals, presentations, and sales materials.
- Maintain and update CRM systems with accurate client information and fully utilize CRM as a communication, reporting, measurement, and tracking tool.
- Track and report on business development activities and performance metrics.
- Deliver presentations and hands-on demonstrations of Phoenix Contact products, applications, and technology.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of all Phoenix Contact products and solutions.
- Proactively utilize all resources and sales tools to maximize productivity, responsiveness, and customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with Harrisburg Product teams to aid in the development of field presentations and application notes.
- Continue personal development through an effective skill-building program as determined by the RSM, Director of Sales, and/or the Harrisburg Training Department.
- Provide forecasts and reports to RSM as required.
- Independently and/or with regional management, develop and implement effective Mutual Action Plans with assigned distributor locations.
