The Product Engineering Intern at EtherWAN will gain hands-on experience in firmware and device testing, hardware integration, scripting automation, and documentation, contributing to real-world projects that impact product development and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Perform firmware and device testing and debugging
Test device mounting hardware
Write scripts to automate device configurations
Refurbish training kits
Maintain documentation
Test hardware prototypes
Requirements
Actively enrolled in a college or university with a focus on Electrical or Network Engineering (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering (acceptable).
Knowledge of basic networking concepts.
Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux command-line environments.
Hands-on experience with basic scripting in Python.
Experience with projects involving hardware integration.
Interest in hardware development.
Hands-on experience testing or installing equipment such as building a PC.
Must be self-motivated and able to take ownership of assigned projects from start to finish.
Availability to work full-time during the summer internship period.
Willingness to continue internship into Fall 2026 part-time and Spring 2027 part-time.
Ability to look at a computer screen for extended periods of time up to 4 hours.
Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time, 2-4 hours at a time.
Must be able to commute to the Irvine, CA office.
Must maintain on-time and regular attendance.
