The Territory Manager will work remotely to develop and maintain client relationships within a specific region, primarily focusing on growing the book of business through new business development, retention, and strategic planning in the insurance industry.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain relationships with agents and producers within the assigned territory
Identify and generate new business opportunities through prospecting and presentations
Prequalify new business submissions to ensure they are viable opportunities
Coordinate prospecting pipeline meetings with underwriting partners
Develop and implement action plans to grow the assigned territory
Support retention of key renewals and placement of new business
Attend industry events such as conventions, conferences, and trade shows
Assist in annual business planning and strategy development
Requirements
5 to 10 years of P C Public Entity business development experience.
Demonstrated ability to make successful presentations to individuals and or groups at all levels of an organization.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work with dynamic and evolving priorities with enthusiasm.
Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations.
Ability to develop agency producer relationships to support retention of key renewals and placement of quality new business.
Ability to identify and generate new business opportunities.
Ability to coordinate and lead prospecting pipeline meetings with underwriting partners.
Ability to develop and implement action plans to grow the assigned territory.
Willingness to attend conventions, conferences, and trade shows as needed and prepare post-event reports and analysis.
Ability to assist in annual business planning.
Knowledge of public sector government and education insurance buying process is a plus, but not required.
Knowledge of public entity insurance products and services is a plus, but not required.
Experience in working with or understanding of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific methods is a plus.
The candidate must be ideally based in Indiana and able to work fully remote.
The candidate must be able to manage a book of business in the mid-west region, specifically Indiana.
