This internship involves supporting the development of models and research related to electricity market optimization and price forecasting, working closely with experienced engineers to influence how energy storage assets are dispatched and traded in competitive markets.
Key Responsibilities
Support electricity market optimization and price forecasting research and model development
Contribute to the dispatch and trading strategies of utility-scale energy storage assets in competitive markets
Apply stochastic and mixed-integer optimization techniques to market problems such as CAISO and ERCOT
Perform time-series forecasting for electricity prices and load
Requirements
Motivated and analytically rigorous candidate with an interest in electricity market optimization and price forecasting.
Ability to work directly alongside the Principal Market Optimization Engineer, contributing to real, production-relevant research and model development.
Experience or knowledge in stochastic and mixed-integer optimization applied to CAISO ERCOT market problems.
Experience or knowledge in time-series forecasting for electricity prices and load.
Currently enrolled in a relevant educational program (such as a degree in Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, Applied Mathematics, or related fields).
Availability to commit to a role estimated to be 2 to 3 months in duration.
Availability to work 40 hours per week.
Ability to work remotely (LI-remote).
