Job Description
An IT Support Specialist responsible for providing technical support for various workplace technologies, troubleshooting issues, managing documentation, and supporting the company's IT infrastructure in a startup environment focused on renewable energy and ocean technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide end-user support for laptops, mobile devices, A V systems, printers, and network equipment
- Manage and resolve support requests through ticketing systems and communication channels
- Administer and support software tools and SaaS platforms such as Slack, Google Workspace, Atlassian, and Microsoft Office
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding by provisioning and deprovisioning accounts and devices
- Document support processes and develop knowledge base articles
- Manage inventory and storage of technology peripherals and equipment
- Assist in office build-outs and setup of new technology and equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across multiple operating systems and hardware
- Support and maintain network and hardware infrastructure, including patching cables and supporting AV equipment
Requirements
- Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience in technical support, desktop support, or a related role.
- Candidates should have strong troubleshooting skills across multiple operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux, as well as mobile devices such as Android and iOS.
- Candidates must be comfortable with the administration and governance of corporate productivity tools including Google Workspace, Slack, Confluence, and Jira.
- Candidates should have skills in supporting A V equipment, printers, and networking basics such as patching cables.
- Candidates must possess excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work directly with people to solve problems.
- Candidates should have a process-oriented mindset with attention to detail in documentation.
- Candidates must be able to be flexible and adaptive in a fast-growing, evolving environment.
- Candidates should be comfortable doing hands-on work, including resolving support tickets, setting up new workstations, and supporting office space needs.
- Candidates must be willing to work on-site at the Portland office.
