A financial accounting role responsible for supporting the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, preparing financial statements, ensuring GAAP compliance, and collaborating across teams to improve financial reporting and internal controls in a fast-paced clean tech company.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and industry standards
Drive the month-end close processes for timely and accurate financial reporting
Ensure accurate accounting and reporting of capitalized software development costs, lease arrangements under ASC 842, and intercompany transactions
Collaborate cross-functionally to support compliance, automation, and consistent accounting treatment across entities
Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance internal governance
Assist in the preparation and support of external audits, including documentation and testing of controls
Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes using industry-specific software and tools
Develop and maintain account reconciliations and other close-related documentation
Support special projects related to accounting and financial reporting
Requirements
Bachelor's degree with accounting major or Master's degree in Accounting
Certified Public Accountant license or equivalent required
2 years of progressive accounting experience
Ability to assist with the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and industry-specific standards
Experience driving the assigned month-end close processes for timely and accurate reporting
Experience ensuring accurate accounting and financial reporting for capitalized software development costs, lease arrangements under ASC 842, and intercompany transactions, in alignment with GAAP and company policy
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to support compliance, automation initiatives, and consistent accounting treatment across entities
Experience developing and implementing policies for recognizing revenue from renewable energy projects, adhering to ASC 606
Ability to partner with cross-functional teams such as payroll, project development, legal, and operations to ensure financial impacts are accurately captured and communicated
Experience developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures to strengthen internal governance
Ability to assist in the preparation and support of external audits, including documentation and testing of key controls
Experience identifying opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes, leveraging industry-specific software and tools
Ability to assist initiatives to improve the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting, including implementing new accounting standards and systems
Experience developing and maintaining account reconciliations and other close items as necessary
Ability to document relevant technical accounting matters
Willingness to support special projects as assigned
Strong planning and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
