Job Description
The Senior Quality Control Technician, HVAC is responsible for reviewing and verifying HVAC installation projects to ensure they meet quality standards, design specifications, and energy efficiency goals, while conducting site inspections and providing feedback to contractors and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and close-out project milestone packages, including sales and design plans, installation photos, and verification measures for HVAC projects
- Verify HVAC system performance, compliance with specifications, and energy efficiency standards
- Inspect HVAC installations on-site to assess quality and provide feedback to contractors
- Evaluate HVAC control and monitoring platforms for proper configuration and functionality
- Approve or reject project milestones and communicate feedback to external partners
- Develop and improve quality control processes, installation guidelines, and contractor training programs
- Manage partner support requests and resolve escalations promptly
- Conduct site inspections of mechanical, structural, and electrical components of HVAC installations
- Analyze data to identify trends and recommend corrective actions for quality improvement
- Train junior technicians to enhance team capabilities
Requirements
- Four years of experience in a technical or construction role within the HVAC industry.
- Experience with interdepartmental problem-solving or project management.
- Familiarity with HVAC system design and energy efficiency standards preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence third-party contractors.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency with data analysis and standard business tools such as G-Suite, Microsoft Office, or similar platforms.
- Ability to access mechanical rooms, rooftops, or confined spaces, including working in various weather conditions.
- Capacity to stand, kneel, or bend for extended periods during inspections.
- Commitment to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
