Job Description
The People Operations Specialist at Palmetto supports employee lifecycle processes, enhances team engagement, and fosters a positive workplace culture through HR administration, event planning, and employee relations in a Charlotte-based office environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and respond to employee inquiries to provide timely and accurate HR support
- Facilitate onboarding activities, including new hire orientation, compliance tracking, and office setup
- Process employee changes in HRIS, maintain personnel files, and ensure compliance
- Administer benefit enrollments, handle benefit inquiries, and support open enrollment
- Assist with leave tracking, return-to-work planning, and offboarding procedures
- Support on-site hiring activities and candidate experience
- Coordinate and execute employee engagement and culture-building activities and events
- Manage office operations related to equipment, facilities, and compliance with labor law posters
- Drive strategies to enhance teammate satisfaction and organize office community activities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 2 years of proven experience in human resources, preferably in small companies with 100-200 employees
- High level of professionalism and discretion, especially when handling sensitive information
- Experience with office equipment and facilities management
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to effectively multitask and prioritize
- Strong judgment ability to act autonomously, take initiative, and know when to escalate
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in planning and executing events, activities, and programs that enhance office community and engagement
- Proven ability to build positive relationships with employees, and championing a culture of trust and transparency
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check
