Job Description

The Director of Business Development, Battery and Home Electrification, is a senior leadership role responsible for identifying, developing, and executing new business opportunities in the solar storage and home electrification sectors, focusing on strategic partnerships, product channels, and market expansion to support Palmetto's growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, assess, negotiate, and close new business opportunities aligned with strategic growth objectives.
  • Develop and leverage industry networks to establish commercial partnerships and drive new product channels.
  • Lead account development efforts and initiate prospecting activities for channel partners and corporate clients.
  • Drive strategic relationships and demand programs with partners such as home builders, utilities, and equipment manufacturers.
  • Collaborate on the development of new products, services, and channels through market research and financial analysis.
  • Develop business plans, sales materials, and reference documents to support product and market expansion.
  • Relay customer needs to internal teams and contribute to product innovation and revenue growth initiatives.
  • Manage partner onboarding and program implementation to support new product deployment.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements to identify growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful delivery of solutions and support product adoption.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of B2B enterprise business development, sales, and/or account management experience.
  • Mandatory experience in Solar Storage and Home Electrification industry, ideally with experience in consumer finance as well.
  • Experience with Virtual Power Plant (VPP) and other bespoke utility-level programs.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans in collaboration with internal and external partners and stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven analytical skills and ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Decisive with the ability to move quickly to implement ideas.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
