Job Description
The Account Operations Specialist is responsible for managing customer accounts, resolving financial discrepancies, and supporting partner accounting inquiries to ensure accurate and efficient financial processes within a clean tech company's renewable energy division.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and track aging customer accounts to ensure timely resolution
- Analyze aging reports to identify trends or discrepancies
- Collaborate with internal teams to address overdue accounts and improve operational efficiency
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce outstanding account timelines
- Prepare reports and updates for senior management on pipeline status
- Support partner accounting inquiries by investigating discrepancies and resolving issues
- Assist partners with understanding financial statements, billing, and payment processes
- Maintain accurate documentation of partner interactions and resolutions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 3 years of experience in account operations, financial management, or a similar role
- Proficiency in Excel, and data analysis tools and/or financial reporting systems
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with internal teams and external partners
- Ability to monitor, track, and manage aging customer accounts to ensure timely resolution
- Ability to analyze aging reports and identify trends or discrepancies
- Ability to develop and implement strategies to reduce outstanding timelines
- Experience preparing regular reports and updates for senior management on pipeline status
- Experience driving recommendations on partner offboarding and sales shutoff for problem partners
- Serve as the primary point of contact for partner accounting inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to invoices, payments, and account reconciliations
- Assist partners with understanding financial statements, billing issues, and payment processes
- Collaborate with internal teams to enhance partner experience and optimize financial workflows through process recommendations
- Maintain accurate documentation of partner interactions and resolutions
