Job Description
The Intern in Community Engagement supports the planning and execution of community outreach efforts for solar projects in the Mid-Atlantic region, assisting with research, stakeholder engagement, educational activities, and community relationship building to promote responsible energy development.
Key Responsibilities
- Support community research, stakeholder mapping, engagement tracking, and data collection for solar projects.
- Assist in executing community engagement strategies and outreach efforts in the Mid-Atlantic region.
- Coordinate educational activities, panel donations, and community benefits initiatives.
- Create educational materials for community events related to solar projects.
Requirements
- Degree in progress or completed with coursework in communications, community engagement, social sciences, environmental studies, public relations or related study.
- Interest in solar, renewable energy, community engagement, responsible energy development.
- Must be willing to engage with individuals with diverse perspectives, backgrounds, life experiences, and worldviews.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with MS Office and Windows.
- Self-motivated with ability to take initiative and implement feedback.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Must have a roll up your sleeves and let’s get the job done right type attitude.
- Demonstrated qualities of integrity, credibility, and professional responsibility.
- A willingness to contribute to a culture which thrives on building trust and holding one another accountable.
- Ability to travel to communities in the Mid-Atlantic region (Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania).
- Position requires occasional travel and the candidate must carry an active driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
