Job Description
The Intern in Community Engagement supports the planning and execution of community outreach efforts for solar projects, including research, stakeholder engagement, educational activities, and community relationship building in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Key Responsibilities
- Support community research, stakeholder mapping, engagement tracking, and data collection for solar projects.
- Assist in executing community engagement strategies and outreach efforts in the Mid-Atlantic region.
- Coordinate community engagement activities such as educational events, panel donations, and community benefits.
- Create educational materials for community events.
Requirements
- Degree in progress or completed with coursework in communications, community engagement, social sciences, environmental studies, public relations or related study.
- Interest in solar, renewable energy, community engagement, responsible energy development.
- Must be willing to engage with individuals with diverse perspectives, backgrounds, life experiences, and worldviews.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with MS Office and Windows.
- Self-motivated with ability to take initiative and implement feedback.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Must have a roll up your sleeves and let’s get the job done right type attitude.
- Demonstrated qualities of integrity, credibility, and professional responsibility.
- A willingness to contribute to a culture which thrives on building trust and holding one another accountable.
- Ability to travel to communities in the Mid-Atlantic region (Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania).
- Position requires occasional travel and must carry an active driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
