Job Description
The Lead Data Platform Database Administrator is responsible for designing, managing, and optimizing the company's data platforms, ensuring their availability, security, and performance, with a focus on IoT timeseries data related to solar and energy storage services.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the availability, reliability, recoverability, security, and performance of data platforms.
- Architect, implement, manage, and optimize robust data platforms.
- Ensure cost transparency, containment, and forecasting for data platforms.
- Develop and update Data Platform processes and standards.
- Understand business and technical requirements for IoT timeseries data.
- Design and own data platform architecture solutions in collaboration with the Data Acquisition team.
- Lead critical projects on the Data Platform roadmap.
Requirements
- Own the availability, reliability, recoverability, security, and performance of the company's data platforms.
- Architect, implement, manage, and optimize robust data platforms.
- Be responsible for cost transparency, containment, and forecasting related to data platforms.
- Own, enhance, and update Data Platform processes and standards.
- Understand company needs and own and execute critical projects on the Data Platform roadmap.
- Understand the business and technical requirements for IoT timeseries data and own the data platform architecture solutions.
- Work closely with the Data Acquisition team to ensure a cohesive data platform architecture.
- Own the data platform architecture solutions for IoT timeseries data.
- Report directly to the Director of Data Management and Information Security.
- Possess experience in managing data platforms with a focus on availability, reliability, security, and performance.
