A TechOps Architect at Octopus is responsible for making high-level strategic and architectural decisions across the company's technology operations, while also engaging in hands-on support and problem-solving to ensure sustainable, scalable, and effective technology solutions in a cloud-first environment.
Key Responsibilities
Make high-level strategic and architectural technical decisions for the business
Support and assist with day-to-day 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line IT support
Design and implement sustainable solutions in identity management, scripting, device management, and scalable tooling
Identify areas for improvement and lead initiatives to enhance TechOps processes and systems
Balance technical curiosity with practical, straightforward solutions
Support team growth and foster a collaborative, empathetic work environment
Requirements
Experience in making high-level strategic and architectural technical decisions around the business.
Strong knowledge and experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM).
Ability to help out with day-to-day 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line support activities.
Wide breadth of knowledge and experience across all areas of IT, with an immensely deep understanding of many of those areas.
Recognition as an acknowledged expert among peers in Identity and Access Management.
Passion for hacking and building.
Interest and/or experience in related areas such as software engineering, security, platform architecture, UI/UX design.
Previous roles or experience as an IAM Engineer, Tech Lead, Lead Senior Support Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, Systems Architect, Systems Designer, Senior Systems Engineer, Workplace Technology Architect, or Solutions Architect.
