Job Description

A Staff Data Engineer responsible for building scalable data foundations and driving the data strategy within Octopus Energy's new Analytics Platform team, utilizing tools like dbt to support the company's global energy operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build scalable data foundations using dbt
  • Drive the data strategy across the global business
  • Collaborate with teams to develop and maintain the analytics platform

Requirements

  • Experience in building scalable data foundations using dbt (data build tool).
  • Proficiency in SQL and data modeling techniques.
  • Experience working as a Data Engineer or in a similar role involving data platform development.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data strategies.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (such as AWS, GCP, or Azure) is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a process cycle of up to 4 weeks.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with recruitment teams and stakeholders.
