Job Description
A Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer responsible for installing and demonstrating smart meters in customers' homes, providing energy-saving advice, and ensuring excellent customer service as part of the Octopus Energy Services team.
Key Responsibilities
- Install dual fuel smart meters in customer homes
- Demonstrate how meters and in-home displays work to customers
- Explain energy-saving benefits and answer customer questions about green energy
- Ensure safety and customer service excellence during installations
- Support the continuous improvement of installation processes and procedures
Requirements
- Experience as a smart meter engineer with a proven track record of safety and customer excellence.
- Ability to represent the company's brands professionally in customers' homes.
- Comfortable communicating with customers, including explaining how meters and in-home displays work, how they can help save energy, and answering questions about green energy initiatives.
- Willingness to perform meter installations and demonstrate equipment to customers.
- Ability to work as part of a team supported by an office team sharing performance goals.
- Willingness to adapt to evolving processes and technologies to improve service delivery.
- Availability to complete the process within approximately 4 weeks, with flexibility as needed.
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Honest and empathetic attitude, demonstrating genuine decency in interactions.
- Ability to work safely and adhere to safety protocols during installations and customer interactions.
