Job Description

A Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer responsible for installing and demonstrating smart meters in customers' homes, providing energy-saving advice, and ensuring excellent customer service as part of the Octopus Energy Services team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install dual fuel smart meters in customers' homes
  • Demonstrate and explain how meters and in-home displays work
  • Show customers how to use meters to save energy
  • Answer customer questions about the green energy revolution
  • Ensure safety and customer service excellence during installations

Requirements

  • Experience as a smart meter engineer with a proven track record of safety and customer excellence.
  • Ability to represent the company's brands professionally in customers' homes.
  • Comfortable communicating with customers, including explaining how meters and in-home displays work, how they can help save energy, and answering questions about green energy initiatives.
  • Willingness to perform meter installations and demonstrate the functionality of meters and in-home displays to customers.
  • Ability to work as part of the Octopus Energy Services team, supporting company performance goals and delivering top-class service.
  • Willingness to adapt to evolving processes and technologies to improve efficiency and customer service.
  • Availability to undergo a process that typically takes up to 4 weeks, with flexibility to accommodate individual needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the recruitment team and support staff throughout the hiring process.
  • Willingness to request and accept reasonable accommodations during the interview process if needed.
  • Genuinely honest and empathetic attitude, aligned with the company's values.
