Job Description
The Development Lead at Octopus Energy for Business will be responsible for supporting the technical development of behind-the-meter energy solutions for large business customers, focusing on integrating batteries and flexibility into the company's B2B offerings to promote renewable energy and net zero goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the technical development of OEB's on-site energy proposition, focusing on integrating behind-the-meter batteries and flexibility.
- Collaborate with Group companies focused on on-site wind and solar to develop clean energy behind-the-meter offerings.
- Design and implement solutions for large businesses to optimize low carbon tech at their sites, enhancing site resilience and meeting net zero goals.
Requirements
- Support the technical development of OEB's on-site proposition with a strong focus on integrating behind-the-meter batteries and flexibility into Octopus's B2B solution set.
- Work closely with existing Group companies focused on on-site wind and solar to develop a clean energy behind-the-meter offering for OEB's larger business customers.
- Contribute to building out OEB's I C behind-the-meter capabilities as one of the first hires in the team.
- Develop a deep understanding of behind-the-meter energy systems, including batteries, renewable generation, and flexibility solutions.
- Possess relevant experience in energy technology development, specifically in behind-the-meter solutions, batteries, and renewable energy integration.
- Have a proven track record of supporting or leading technical development projects related to energy systems, batteries, or renewable energy.
- Demonstrate strong collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams and external partners focused on on-site wind, solar, and low-carbon tech.
- Possess relevant educational background in engineering, renewable energy, electrical engineering, or a related technical field (specific degree requirements not explicitly stated but implied).
- Be capable of working within a team to support the development of innovative energy solutions for large business customers.
