Job Description

A Data Analyst role focused on evaluating performance and developing trading strategies within Octopus Energy's Flexibility team, supporting the creation of innovative energy products and solutions to promote renewable energy use and decarbonization.

Requirements

Proven experience in data analysis, including leading investigations to evaluate performance and determine the best trading strategies across a wide range of market opportunities.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and generate actionable insights.
Experience with market analysis related to energy trading or similar sectors.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of investigations and analysis projects.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in relevant data analysis tools and programming languages (such as SQL, Python, R, or similar).
Experience with data visualization tools (such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar) to communicate findings effectively.
Educational background in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, or related discipline.
Ability to evaluate large datasets and perform complex data manipulations.
Strong communication skills to present analysis results clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
