Job Description
A Systems Engineering Intern for Scenario Taxonomy at Nuro will assist in developing and validating the hierarchical scenario taxonomy for L4 autonomous vehicles, working with cross-functional teams to improve safety, reliability, and compliance of the AI Driver system.
Key Responsibilities
- Specify and decompose the hierarchical scenario space into a scenario taxonomy for L4 autonomous vehicles.
- Identify and design key features of the Scenario Taxonomy based on system capabilities and stakeholder requirements.
- Assess the Scenario Taxonomy for data correctness, sufficiency in identifying failure modes, and compliance with standards and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Systems Verification and Validation, Autonomy Development, Mapping, Data Infrastructure, and Operations.
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or related field.
- Past evidence of strong analytical and systems-thinking skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to understand and work within existing taxonomy efforts, including database structures and storage.
- Strong communication skills - both verbal and written.
- Experience driving a motorized vehicle on public roads in the US, in any capacity.

Compensation/salary range: $11,500 to $14,000 per month
