Job Description
The HR Generalist role involves supporting Gatik's North America Fleet Operations by managing HR operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, enhancing employee relations, and fostering a positive workplace culture in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the HR partner for Fleet Operations, supporting compliance, systems, and employee experience.
- Manage day-to-day HR operations for Fleet employees, including payroll, benefits, data integrity, and compliance reporting.
- Oversee driver compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and Canadian CMV regulations, tracking violations and audit readiness.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on employee relations issues and policy interpretation.
- Support HR lifecycle processes for hourly workforce, including onboarding, offboarding, leave tracking, and training.
- Analyze workforce data and compliance metrics to identify insights and recommend solutions.
- Assist in onboarding and culture-building efforts to ensure new staff are well-oriented and aligned with company values.
Requirements
- Must be able to work onsite in Mountain View, CA 5 days per week.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR, ideally in startups or high-growth, fast-paced start-up environments.
- Background in transportation, logistics, or field operations is required.
- Proven expertise supporting non-exempt hourly employees including multi-state regulatory needs.
- Strong HR operations knowledge including onboarding, compliance, performance management, benefits, and employee relations.
- High ownership, sense of urgency, and comfort with ambiguity, with the ability to figure things out and get them done.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work in spreadsheets and extract actionable insights from data.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a calm and confident communication style.
- Experience with HRIS and payroll platforms such as Rippling, ADP, or similar.
- Deep integrity, follow-through, and attention to detail.
- Experience supporting a predominantly hourly workforce, including onboarding, offboarding, PTO and leave tracking, training coordination, and issue resolution.
- Ability to oversee compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and Canadian CMV regulations, including driver qualification files, medical certifications, drug testing protocols, and tracking violations, expirations, and audit readiness.
- Experience supporting employee relations matters professionally and confidentially, ensuring fair process and compliance with employment laws.
Benefits & Perks
Salary range of $55/hr to $75/hr
