Job Description
The role involves managing and leading a team of AV operators to ensure successful execution of operational missions, including hiring, training, performance management, and continuous improvement within a self-driving technology company.
Key Responsibilities
- Hire, onboard, and develop a team of AV operators
- Manage operator performance through feedback, coaching, and performance reviews
- Oversee start and end of shift activities, including attendance and data management
- Coordinate with planning teams to ensure operators are trained and prepared for new features
- Respond to operator and onsite incidents according to established procedures
- Monitor and analyze team performance, identifying areas for improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience managing teams of at least 10 direct reports, including hiring, performance management, coaching, and mentoring or relevant work experience.
- Ability to lead and manage a team of 20 operators, providing feedback, guidance, and coaching to ensure training competency is up to date.
- Experience conducting performance reviews of team members in line with established performance evaluation metrics.
- Experience running the interview process and executing onboarding for new hires in accordance with the company's onboarding plan, working closely with the Learning and Development team to develop interview and onboarding processes and grading rubrics.
- Understanding of US Labor laws, Employment laws, and Driving laws.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, evenings, and weekends to meet business needs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and initiative to resolve issues independently.
- Comfortable reviewing data and analyzing performance metrics.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and assist where needed.
- Willingness to learn and grow, with a friendly, positive attitude.
- Physical ability to perform responsibilities related to shift management activities such as capturing operator attendance, supporting software burns, data importing, and preparing operational equipment.

Compensation/salary range between $80,180 and $108,240, plus annual performance bonus and equity
