Job Description
The role involves developing and maintaining a performance benchmarking platform for autonomous vehicle software, including hardware integration, data pipelines, and system reliability, to ensure efficient and scalable validation of self-driving systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, integrate, and maintain the performance benchmarking platform and infrastructure.
- Build and manage data pipelines to capture, process, and visualize performance metrics.
- Design and implement job orchestration for performance benchmarks across hardware systems.
- Ensure platform reliability through monitoring, alerting, and automation of self-healing processes.
- Guide OS and system-level configuration of bench hardware to replicate production behavior.
- Plan and manage hardware allocation and utilization strategies across multiple hardware generations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate performance analysis needs into infrastructure solutions.
Requirements
- 5 years of industry software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python and working proficiency in C.
- Experience building data pipelines, ingestion, transformation, storage, and visualization, with familiarity with SQL and analytical workflows.
- Deep comfort with Linux systems, including configuring kernels, debugging boot issues, writing systemd units, or managing bare-metal infrastructure.
- Understanding of networking, storage, and compute at a level beyond just it 'just works'.
- Experience setting technical vision and roadmap for a project or platform, driving alignment across multiple stakeholders, and briefing senior engineering leadership on trade-offs and recommendations.
- Experience with AI-native development, treating AI as a core part of the engineering workflow, including coding across the development lifecycle and understanding when AI output requires extra scrutiny versus when it accelerates development.
- Ability to operate comfortably in ambiguous, fast-moving environments, balancing long-term architecture with short-term delivery.
