Job Description

The Senior Product Manager, Business Processes at Nexamp is responsible for identifying, documenting, and prioritizing the development of new software tools to automate and improve business workflows across departments, enabling faster and more reliable operations in support of the company's clean energy mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Map current workflows and identify automation opportunities within business teams.
  • Translate institutional knowledge into clear, scoped product requirements for new tools.
  • Manage the intake and prioritization process for new tool requests based on strategic value, complexity, and urgency.
  • Create detailed specifications, user stories, workflows, and acceptance criteria for engineering or AI development.
  • Act as a liaison between non-technical teams and the technical organization to facilitate tool development and deployment.
  • Define success metrics for initiatives and track outcomes to ensure solutions address the identified problems.

Requirements

  • 7 years of product management experience, with a track record of building net-new products or tools from ambiguous business needs, not just iterating on existing software.
  • Demonstrated ability to extract clear requirements from non-technical stakeholders who may not know what to ask for.
  • Experience documenting and simplifying complex business processes into actionable technical specifications.
  • Strong judgment on build-vs-buy-vs-automate decisions, especially in environments with mixed technical maturity.
  • Comfort working across many domains simultaneously, as this role touches every department, not just one product area.
  • Proven ability to conduct structured discovery with department leaders and operators to translate institutional knowledge into clear, scoped product requirements.
  • Experience owning a cross-functional intake and prioritization process for new tool requests, evaluating each against strategic value, build complexity, and urgency.
  • Ability to produce shovel-ready specifications, user stories, workflows, and acceptance criteria that can be picked up by engineering or used for AI-built solutions.
  • Experience defining success metrics for initiatives and tracking outcomes post-delivery to ensure the tool solved the problem.
  • Ability to serve as a bridge between non-technical teams and the technical organization, facilitating safe and supported tool acquisition.
  • Experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond the organization.
  • Experience showcasing initiative to improve current work, processes, products, and services across the organization.
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
  • Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty.
  • Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and apply that knowledge to inform business decisions.
  • Commitment to Nexamp’s mission and passion for solving climate crisis issues.
