The Lead Data Analyst at Nexamp is responsible for developing and managing data models, dashboards, and analyses to support data-driven decision-making, while collaborating with stakeholders and the data team to enhance the company's self-service data platform in the renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
Gather, prioritize, and maintain reusable data models, dashboards, analyses, and data assets.
Act as the product manager and implementer for data offerings within your domain.
Develop and optimize data solutions using advanced SQL and BI tools.
Serve as the subject matter expert for data in specific business areas.
Identify opportunities for impact, surface insights, and support decision-making to influence business strategy.
Create and maintain comprehensive data documentation and communicate updates to stakeholders.
Write user stories or tickets for data engineering, validate data mapping, conduct QA, and monitor data quality.
Monitor data asset usage, promote data literacy, and encourage self-service BI among stakeholders.
Collaborate with a centralized data team using agile methodologies and partner with data architects, engineers, and scientists to shape the data platform roadmap.
Requirements
Seven (7) years of experience as a data analyst serving business owners and collaborating with data engineers.
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field; an advanced degree is a plus.
Advanced skills in SQL and BI tool administration and usage.
Experience with advanced SQL and BI tools to implement work.
Ability to independently gather requirements, prioritize, deliver, maintain, and continuously improve reusable data models, dashboards, analyses, A/B tests, and other data assets.
Experience in creating and maintaining comprehensive data documentation and communicating updates to stakeholders.
Experience in writing user stories or tickets for data engineering, validating data mapping, conducting QA, and implementing data quality monitoring.
Ability to monitor the usage of data assets, increase data literacy, and promote self-service through BI tools among stakeholders.
Experience working within a centralized data team using agile methodologies.
Ability to collaborate with peer analysts through overlapping work, priority shifting, and code reviews.
Partnering with data architects, engineers, scientists, and analysts to shape the vision and roadmap for the data platform.
Ability to define and track annual OKRs to measure impact.
Strong problem-solving skills with a proven track record of independently solving problems.
Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives within and outside the organization.
Experience in making improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization.
Strong sense of accountability and ownership mentality.
Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty.
Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and apply that knowledge to inform business decisions.
