Job Description

The Product Lifecycle Manager is responsible for overseeing the review, introduction, modification, and phase-out of parts within the supply chain, ensuring system accuracy, managing inventory and supply risks, and coordinating cross-functional teams to optimize operational processes and supply chain performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the review, introduction, change, and phase-out of part numbers from an Operations perspective.
  • Coordinate cross-functional reviews to ensure proper execution of part changes in operational systems and Bills of Material (BOM).
  • Manage part numbers in ERP and related systems, review inventory levels and open orders, and provide stocking and depletion recommendations.
  • Track approved substitutions and alternate parts to mitigate supply risk.
  • Develop and maintain processes for managing part changes and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), ensuring consistent adherence.
  • Ensure part changes are available when needed without causing shortages, excess inventory, or production disruptions.
  • Act as a project coordinator across multiple functions including Operations, Sourcing, Engineering, Quality, Sales, and Product Management.
  • Engage with new suppliers and supply chain partners, balancing process, risk, and strategic costs.

Requirements

  • Experience managing the review, introduction, change, and phasing out of part numbers from an Operations perspective.
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional reviews to ensure part changes are fully understood and properly executed in operational systems and Bills of Material (BOM).
  • Proficiency in managing part numbers in ERP and related systems.
  • Experience reviewing inventory levels and open orders, and providing stocking and depletion recommendations.
  • Track record of managing approved substitution and alternate parts to reduce supply risk.
  • Experience building and maintaining processes used to manage part changes, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and ensuring those processes are consistently followed.
  • Focus on execution, system accuracy, and follow-through to ensure part changes are available when needed without creating material shortages, excess inventory, or disrupting production.
  • Ability to act as a project coordinator and work across multiple functions including Operations, Strategic Sourcing, Engineering, Quality, Sales, Project Management, and Product Management.
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment with new suppliers and supply chain partners.
  • Ability to balance process and risk, handle strategic cost considerations, and actively engage with supply chain partners.
  • Willingness to travel at least 10-20% of the time for company off-sites, conferences, trade shows, site visits, and other events.
