Job Description
A Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for developing and managing mechanical designs of solar tracker technology from concept to production, including prototyping, testing, and product improvements, within a hybrid work environment based in the Bay Area.
Key Responsibilities
- Own mechanical design work from concept through production, including prototyping, testing, and NPI support.
- Develop and improve solar tracker technology through new product development and sustaining engineering.
- Conduct root-cause analysis to identify and resolve mechanical design issues.
Requirements
- Candidates must own mechanical design work from concept through production, including prototyping, testing, NPI support, and root-cause analysis.
- Candidates must work on both new product development and sustaining improvements for existing products.
- Candidates must be able to commute to the Oakland office and/or testing site at least 2 days per week with additional onsite days as needed.
- Candidates must be willing to travel up to 20% for site visits, supplier visits, tradeshows, and company off-sites.
- Candidates must have a total compensation package that includes a competitive base salary, bonus, commission if applicable, and stock options based on qualifications and experience.
- Candidates must be willing to travel at least 10-20% of the time for company off-sites, conferences, trade shows, site visits, and other potential events as needed.
