Job Description
A Software Engineer at Loft Orbital will develop and maintain mission management software for spacecraft scheduling and multi-satellite operations, participating in live satellite missions and tackling advanced automation challenges in space systems engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software for spacecraft and constellation scheduling
- Design, build, and operate core Mission Management Services (MMS) to optimize client payload access and manage multi-satellite operations
- Participate in live satellite operations and software integration for real-time missions
- Create and improve automation tools for schedule optimization and space system operations
Requirements
- Proven experience in software engineering, with the ability to design, build, and operate core Mission Management Services (MMS) software that enables spacecraft and constellation scheduling.
- Experience in developing and maintaining software that creates optimal timeframes for client payload access and manages the complexity of multi-satellite operations.
- Ability to participate in live satellite operations and directly impact real-world missions.
- Experience with full automation stack development, including schedule optimization and software integration for live missions.
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to take responsibility for individual work within a team environment.
- Proficiency in software development relevant to space system operations, including automation, scheduling, and integration tasks.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with cutting-edge technical challenges involving space systems and software engineering.
