Job Description
A Senior Software Engineer in Space Infrastructure at Loft is responsible for developing and scaling software systems to operate and maintain a heterogeneous fleet of satellites, ensuring reliable and efficient space infrastructure operations, and potentially serving as a Flight Director overseeing satellite health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Scale and operate a heterogeneous fleet of satellites across various mission types.
- Develop and maintain ground and flight software for satellite operations.
- Ensure the reliable, efficient, and standardized operation of space infrastructure, including satellite buses, the Hub, and payloads.
- Solve on-orbit problems related to satellite stability and performance.
- Work on systems interacting with mission control software and onboard satellite code.
- Potentially serve as a Flight Director, overseeing the health and safety of the satellite fleet.
Requirements
- Experience in software engineering related to satellite operations, ground and flight software, or solving on-orbit problems.
- Ability to work on systems that interact with mission control systems such as Cockpit, as well as onboard satellite code.
- Knowledge of the stability and operation of satellite bus, the Hub, and payloads as a platform to execute customer missions.
- Experience in scaling operations for a heterogeneous fleet of satellites spanning dedicated, rideshare, and constellation missions.
- Ability to ensure the reliable, efficient, and standardized operation of space infrastructure.
- Willingness to work in a role that may include responsibilities related to becoming a Flight Director, overseeing the health and safety of the satellite fleet.
