Job Description

The Senior Contracts Manager will oversee all contractual activities related to high-value procurements and customer agreements in the space industry, including contract strategy, negotiations, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration to support the company's satellite manufacturing and deployment goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of contracts, including drafting, negotiation, execution, and amendments.
  • Develop and standardize contract templates, playbooks, and baseline commercial positions.
  • Lead negotiations for complex, high-value procurement contracts such as satellite buses, payloads, and launch services.
  • Structure and negotiate customer agreements for hardware and services.
  • Identify contractual risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Manage liability allocation, warranties, termination clauses, export controls, and flow-down requirements.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure contractual terms align with operational, schedule, and risk objectives.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and market dynamics to provide commercial insights.

Requirements

  • Strong contractual expertise, commercial judgment, and the ability to operate in a technically driven environment within the space industry.
  • Experience owning the full lifecycle of contracts, including drafting, negotiation, execution, and amendments.
  • Ability to develop and standardize contract templates, playbooks, and baseline commercial positions.
  • Experience leading negotiations for complex, high-value procurements such as satellite buses, subsystems, payloads, launch services, and ground station services.
  • Partnering with Engineering to ensure technical scope and specifications are clearly defined.
  • Working closely with Supply Chain and Program teams to align contract terms with schedule, cost, and risk objectives.
  • Experience structuring and negotiating customer agreements for hardware and services.
  • Supporting sales and leadership in shaping commercially sound deal structures.
  • Ensuring customer contracts protect company IP, liability positions, and delivery risk.
  • Identifying contractual risks and defining mitigation strategies.
  • Managing liability allocation, warranties, termination clauses, export control considerations, and flow-down requirements.
  • Developing negotiation frameworks that support long-term scalability.
  • Partnering with Finance, Engineering, Legal, Supply Chain, and Program Management to translate contractual terms into operationally enforceable outcomes.
  • Ensuring contract obligations are clearly understood across teams.
  • Staying informed on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and evolving space market dynamics.
  • Providing commercial insights and recommendations to leadership.
  • Educational background or experience relevant to the space industry or complex contract management (implied, as the role requires operating in a space industry environment).
