Job Description
The Environmental Test Engineer is responsible for overseeing and executing environmental verification tests on satellites, including vibration, thermal vacuum, thermal, and EMC/EMI campaigns, to ensure reliable testing and high-quality satellite launches.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee environmental verification and testing processes for satellites
- Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for testing activities
- Prepare infrastructure and facilities for environmental testing
- Maintain and oversee testing equipment and infrastructure
- Execute vibration, thermal vacuum (TVAC), thermal, and EMC EMI testing campaigns
- Ensure testing is completed reliably, on schedule, and to high standards
Requirements
- Experience in conducting environmental verification and testing for satellites, including hands-on execution of Vibration, Thermal Vacuum (TVAC), Thermal, and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) EMI campaigns.
- Ability to work across the full lifecycle of environmental verification and testing, from early program feasibility, planning, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) creation, infrastructure readiness, maintenance oversight, to hands-on testing execution.
- Proven experience in planning and executing satellite environmental tests reliably, on schedule, and to high standards required for satellite launch.
- Physical ability to perform hands-on testing activities in a satellite production environment.
