Job Description
A Backend Engineer role focused on developing and maintaining data management services that process, move, and deliver satellite payload data to customers, working on scalable microservices and data pipelines in a space infrastructure environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain backend services that ingest, process, categorize, and deliver satellite payload data.
- Design and scale microservices and data pipelines between ground segment, satellite operations, and customer delivery systems.
- Collaborate with backend, ground software, flight software, space infrastructure, and customer operations teams to ensure reliable data transfer.
- Develop tools and systems to operate spacecraft and support satellite data management.
Requirements
- Experience in designing and scaling microservices and data pipelines that sit between ground segment, satellite operations, and customer deliveries.
- Proficiency in building backend systems that move and transform satellite data at scale.
- Ability to work closely with backend, ground software, flight software, space infrastructure, and customer operations teams.
- Experience in ingesting data from ground stations, processing and categorizing it, tracking it end to end, and reliably delivering it to internal tools and external endpoints.
- Willingness to participate in SatDevOps training and use tools to operate spacecraft.
- Experience in shipping code and monitoring its performance in real operations.
