Job Description
The Senior Software Engineer - Financials, Cost Charging will develop and maintain software solutions focused on financial and cost management within the energy industry, utilizing technologies like Python, Django, and AWS to support the company's mission of creating a sustainable energy system.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend systems using Python, Django, Django-REST-framework, and GraphQL
- Implement infrastructure and deployment pipelines utilizing AWS, Terraform, Packer, and Consul
- Monitor and measure system performance using tools like Loggly, Sentry, and Cloudwatch
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams including engineers, UX experts, and designers
- Follow Agile methodologies such as Kanban to manage and specify work tasks
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer or similar role with a focus on backend development, preferably with experience in energy or related industries.
- Strong proficiency in Python programming language.
- Experience working with Django, Django-REST-framework, and GraphQL Graphene for web development.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services and heavy usage of Hashistack tools such as Packer, Consul, and Terraform as part of a continuous deployment pipeline.
- Familiarity with server-side development practices, including continuous delivery, health checks, and infrastructure automation.
- Experience working within a multi-discipline engineering team of around 800 people, collaborating with server-side, client-side, and mobile engineers, UX experts, copywriters, and designers.
- Ability to specify and manage work using tools such as Google Docs, Asana, Github, CircleCI, and Terraform Enterprise.
- Experience with performance measurement and monitoring tools such as Loggly, Sentry, and CloudWatch.
- Understanding of immutable infrastructure principles and continuous deployment pipelines.
- Demonstrated ability to work in an environment following a Kanban-like approach to project management.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to adapt to open-source coding conventions and contribute to open-source projects if required.
