Job Description

The Senior Software Engineer - Financials will develop and maintain energy management platforms using technologies like Python, Django, and AWS, contributing to innovative solutions for sustainable energy systems and customer experience enhancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain server-side applications using Python, Django, and related frameworks.
  • Implement and manage infrastructure using AWS, Terraform, and other Hashistack tools as part of continuous deployment.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams including client-side and mobile engineers, UX experts, and designers.
  • Utilize monitoring and performance measurement tools such as Loggly, Sentry, and Cloudwatch to ensure system reliability.
  • Contribute to the development of AI-driven energy management platforms, including customer information systems, billing, and meter data management.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer or in a similar senior engineering role with a strong focus on software development and deployment.
  • Extensive experience in server-side development primarily using Python.
  • Hands-on experience with Django, Django-REST-framework, and GraphQL Graphene for building web applications.
  • Solid understanding and practical experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure, including employing Hashistack tools such as Packer, Consul, and Terraform as part of a continuous deployment pipeline.
  • Experience with implementing and maintaining continuous delivery pipelines and immutable infrastructure using tools like CircleCI and Terraform Enterprise.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and performance measurement tools such as Loggly, Sentry, and CloudWatch.
  • Ability to work within a multi-discipline engineering team, collaborating with client-side, mobile engineers, UX experts, copywriters, and designers.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code, deployment automation, and related best practices.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, specifically a Kanban-like approach, and experience using project management tools like Google Docs and Asana.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • Ability to understand and implement best practices for software security, performance, and scalability.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and skill development in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
