Job Description
The Finance Manager will oversee and develop financial operations in Japan, ensuring compliance with local regulations, providing strategic financial guidance, and supporting regional expansion efforts within a global energy technology company.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage Japanese finance operations
- Develop core financial processes for the Japanese market
- Ensure compliance with Japanese tax and regulatory requirements
- Provide financial reporting and strategic guidance to local and global leadership
- Support broader APAC regional finance activities
- Build and establish the finance function from the ground up in Japan
Requirements
- Robust technical finance expertise specific to the Japanese market, including experience developing core financial processes and ensuring strict compliance with Japanese tax and regulatory requirements.
- Experience supporting financial reporting and providing strategic guidance to local and global leadership within a regional or international context.
- Hands-on experience in managing finance operations, ideally in a role involving building finance functions from the ground up.
- Ability to develop and implement core financial processes and controls in a new or expanding regional setting.
- Strong understanding of Japanese tax laws and regulatory requirements relevant to financial operations.
- Experience ensuring compliance with Japanese financial regulations and tax obligations.
- Proven ability to support broader regional activities in the APAC region, with a focus on Japanese market specifics.
- Demonstrated autonomy and ability to work independently in a startup or high-growth environment.
- Excellent communication skills to provide financial guidance and strategic insights to local and global leadership.
