Job Description
A Data Engineer responsible for building and maintaining data pipelines, platforms, and sources to support analytics, machine learning, and data processing workflows within a sustainable energy technology company.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain data platform, pipelines, and data sources
- Automate data processing workflows, including ETL jobs and machine learning tasks
- Support the processing of large volumes of smart meter readings and customer data
- Develop self-service data analytics tools for retail energy clients
Requirements
- Experience as a data engineer with a proven track record of building and maintaining data platforms, pipelines, and data sources.
- Ability to work across the entire customer domain on data processing tasks, including natural language understanding of customer communications and processing billions of smart meter readings daily.
- Experience with automating data processing workflows, from simple ETL jobs to machine learning training and prediction.
- Strong understanding of data processing and data management concepts relevant to energy management systems.
- Proficiency in building and maintaining scalable, reliable data pipelines and data sources.
- Ability to support clients in creating customized and market-leading smart energy tariffs through data solutions.
- Experience working with self-service data analytics platforms.
- Knowledge of advanced data processing techniques and tools used in energy industry applications.
- Ability to contribute to the development and maintenance of a data platform used by global retail energy clients.
- Understanding of the energy industry, renewable generation, smart grids, and customer information systems is desirable but not explicitly mandatory.
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate across multiple disciplines.
- Legal right to work in the country where the position is based at the time of application.
