Job Description
The Director of Engineering will lead the development and strategic direction of a next-generation SaaS platform for the trades industry, focusing on energy management tools and home efficiency solutions, while managing a growing technical team and ensuring the delivery of secure, scalable, high-performance software.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of the next-generation SaaS platform for the trades industry.
- Shape the technical strategy, system architecture, and organizational structure of the product.
- Lead and develop a growing engineering team.
- Collaborate with product and design leadership to ensure secure, scalable, and high-performance software delivery.
- Build resilient, distributed systems in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Experience leading the development of SaaS platforms serving professionals in the trades industry.
- Deep architectural experience and a track record of building resilient, distributed systems in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to shape the technical strategy, system architecture, and organizational structure of a new product and business area.
- Experience leading and growing technical teams, working closely with product and design leadership to ensure the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performance software.
- Hands-on technical leadership skills with a passion for team development.
- Proven experience in building secure, scalable, and high-performance software systems.
- Strong understanding of system architecture and organizational structure for software development.
- Experience in developing tools for project management, energy modeling, savings calculations, and optimization of home energy systems including rooftop solar, battery storage, and home efficiency upgrades.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing responsibilities and priorities.
