Job Description
A technical leadership role responsible for managing a small engineering team, driving product development, and contributing to the evolution of renewable energy software solutions, with a focus on solar project development and technology innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers, setting direction and driving projects forward
- Manage and mentor up to four engineers, supporting their growth and development
- Enhance engineering culture to improve agility, efficiency, and collaboration
- Select solutions for product challenges balancing performance, flexibility, and reliability
- Explore and guide the application of new technologies, including machine learning, in solar project development
- Contribute high-quality code, especially on the backend, and participate in code and design reviews
- Gain domain knowledge in solar project development and propose product features and infrastructure improvements
Requirements
- Previous experience in a technical leadership and or people management capacity.
- Experience mentoring other engineers and, ideally, previous management experience.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbally, in engineering team and cross-functional settings.
- Experience with mentorship coaching, career development, and conflict resolution.
- Broad full-stack experience including React, Rails, Java, and or Go.
- Deep experience architecting web services and generating novel solutions to problems with complexity and scale.
- Track record of onboarding, getting up to speed quickly, and driving technical and cultural improvements at previous roles.
- Ability to communicate and drive work forward in remote environments, across competing priorities.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $190,000 to $220,000 with equity award
Work schedule: Remote work
