Job Description
A Sr. Solution Architect at Esri partners with utility customers to design and implement advanced GIS solutions using ArcGIS enterprise systems, providing technical leadership, strategic planning, and consulting to meet complex business and technical needs in the utility sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement ArcGIS platform-based strategies and solutions to meet customer requirements
- Define business continuity plans for on-premises and cloud deployments following industry standards
- Translate customer system requirements into software architecture and design specifications
- Advise customers on innovative and effective GIS solutions using Esri technology
- Develop and recommend GIS architectures, strategies, and migration plans for clients
- Identify, design, and certify GIS workflows for enterprise and non-Esri platforms
- Develop multi-year organizational GIS strategies for technology change and budgeting
- Mentor and guide less experienced colleagues and technical staff
- Lead all stages of ArcGIS platform deployment, including planning, scripting, and automation
- Collaborate with customer DevSecOps teams to ensure successful deployment and integration
Requirements
- 12 years in GIS platform architecture and solution design
- 5 years of significant, proven experience applying GIS technology within the electric and gas utilities sector
- Proven experience with ArcGIS Enterprise desktop, server, online
- Proven experience with RDBMS such as Oracle and SQL
- Proven experience with server environments including Windows and Linux
- Proven experience with programming and scripting languages including Python, JavaScript, HTML5, Terraform, Powershell, and Chef
- Knowledge of integrating GIS with ERP, EAM, CRM, SCM systems
- Experience with service-oriented architectures and cloud hybrid configurations
- Strong ability to lead teams, manage budgets and risks, and communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, GIS, Mathematics, or a related STEM field
