Job Description
A GIS subject matter expert responsible for advising on and demonstrating Esri's GIS technology solutions to complex government clients, developing innovative strategies, and supporting sales efforts through technical expertise and presentations.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise customers on complex GIS solutions and demonstrate their value
- Build relationships and support sales efforts by presenting and demonstrating Esri software and solutions
- Lead technical meetings with enterprise decision-makers to drive revenue
- Serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert in GIS technology for government clients
- Develop and propose complex strategies that align Esri technology with customer business needs
- Design and deliver technical presentations for diverse audiences, including at conferences and executive meetings
- Troubleshoot client issues related to Esri application deployment and system architecture
- Share knowledge and coach team members on GIS best practices
- Understand and integrate GIS solutions with other business systems such as data warehousing, BI, CRM, and ERP
Requirements
- Five years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications
- Three years of experience in state and or local government
- Broad knowledge of ArcGIS from an IT context such as hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, cloud computing
- Demonstrated experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design
- Understanding of sales and business development processes
- Ability to troubleshoot client issues related to Esri application deployment and system architecture
- Experience with geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and environments including Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Experience integrating software solutions with other business systems including data warehousing, BI, CRM, ERP, and analytics platforms
- Programming and scripting experience with languages such as Python and JavaScript
- Remarkable presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50%
- Bachelor’s degree in geography, computer science, or a related field
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (Visa sponsorship is not available)
- Experience incorporating real-time information streams with existing GIS data and IT infrastructure (preferred but not mandatory)
- Knowledge of digitalization strategies that include mobile, IoT, advanced analytics and data science, AI, ML, and imagery (preferred but not mandatory)
