Job Description
An internship position at Esri R D Center-Zurich focused on research and development of prototype software and methods related to 3D Web GIS, spatial analysis, web cartography, and UI/UX design, offering hands-on experience in a leading-edge GIS technology environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Select or define a focused internship project in 3D Web GIS, web cartography, web apps, or UI/UX design
- Research the state of the art and study real-world use cases related to the project topic
- Propose a design and work plan, then discuss and refine it with supervisors and colleagues
- Implement the work plan and share progress and results with the team
- Document the completed work, create showcase videos, and present findings to the team
- Contribute to daily development tasks within Scrum product teams (optional)
Requirements
- Experience with web development
- Background in UI UX design
- Interest in contributing to open source
- Self-initiative, responsible, self-controlled, and self-motivating
- Good verbal and written skills in English and/or German
- BSc or MSc in computer science, architecture, GIS, or UI UX design completion or final year of study
- Existing work authorization for Switzerland
