Job Description

A sales development role focused on generating new business opportunities for Esri by engaging with prospects through calls and emails, understanding customer needs, and promoting GIS solutions to support organizational success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to inbound requests and execute outbound calls and emails to generate new sales.
  • Build sales relationships, follow up with prospects, and close business deals.
  • Manage and maintain a pipeline of target prospects using phone and electronic communication.
  • Proactively listen to customer needs and recommend appropriate Esri solutions.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to ensure a strong customer experience and account handoff.
  • Develop target lists, call strategies, and messaging in coordination with sales management.
  • Learn and understand Esri’s products and services to execute sales processes effectively.
  • Leverage CRM tools to create and manage data and activities related to sales efforts.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of sales, consulting, or client facing experience
  • Customer oriented with a high level of professionalism
  • Possess a desire to learn and succeed in tech sales
  • Responsive, friendly, and thoughtful in verbal and written communications
  • Able to ask for and implement feedback to improve performance
  • Ability to learn new concepts and software programs quickly, retain large amounts of information, and adapt to a changing work environment
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, including basic spreadsheet familiarity
  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, marketing, geography, GIS, or related field
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (Visa sponsorship is not available)
  • Experience with Salesforce.com is preferred
  • Experience with SaaS software in a sales or business environment is preferred
  • Knowledge of industry sectors such as commercial, utility, energy, state and local government, or federal government is preferred
