Job Description
A GIS subject matter expert responsible for advising customers on complex GIS solutions, demonstrating the value of Esri technology, and supporting sales and technical consulting efforts in government and other sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise customers on complex GIS solutions and demonstrate their value
- Build relationships and support sales strategies for Esri software and solutions
- Become a subject matter expert in GIS, especially ArcGIS, and in government sectors
- Present technical demonstrations and communicate GIS solutions to technical and non-technical audiences
- Proactively craft and propose GIS solutions addressing customer challenges and aligning with their business needs
Requirements
- Two years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications
- One year of experience working in or supporting state or local government
- Understanding of ArcGIS from an IT context such as hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, and cloud computing
- Experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design as well as an understanding of sales and business development processes
- Experience with geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and environments such as Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50%
- Bachelor’s degree in geography, computer science, or a related field
