Job Description
A GIS subject matter expert responsible for advising customers on complex GIS solutions, demonstrating the value of Esri technology, and supporting sales and technical consulting efforts related to spatial analysis, mapping, and GIS deployment for government clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise customers on complex GIS solutions and demonstrate the value of Esri technology.
- Build relationships and support sales strategies by presenting and demonstrating Esri software and solutions.
- Become a subject matter expert in GIS, particularly ArcGIS, and in state and local government contexts.
- Proactively craft and propose GIS solutions that address customer challenges and align with their business needs.
- Design and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support deployment, use, and administration of Esri technology by sharing best practices.
Requirements
- Two years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications
- One year of experience working in or supporting state or local government
- Understanding of ArcGIS from an IT context such as hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, and cloud computing
- Experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design as well as an understanding of sales and business development processes
- Experience with geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and environments, specifically Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Remarkable presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50% of the time
- Bachelor’s degree in geography, computer science, or a related field
